The Malabar Hill Residents’ Association (MHRA) is registered under the Societies Registration Act extended to Maharashtra and the Bombay Public Trust Act. The genesis of the Association is derived from the Advanced Locality Management (ALM). Under the ALM concept, local residents’ groups work closely with the MCGM and other Statutory Authorities to address and solve their problems in the locality.

Against this backdrop the MHRA was founded, albeit on a scale larger than an ALM with the objective of bringing together members, both individuals, housing societies and buildings within clearly defined geographical limits, for the purpose of improving the quality of services and facilities.

The MHRA’s first formal interaction with the MCGM was on December 11, 2004 and the Trust was formed on April 9, 2005.
